Westend is on croft land in Achmore where six generations of Maggie’s mother’s family have lived since the village was established c.1820s.
During the summer season, Maggie welcomes guests at Westend Bed and Breakfast and works as a tour guide for cruise ship visitors. Maggie is a native Gaelic speaker and the remainder of the year is spend researching and recording aspects of Hebridean cultural.
Hamish tends the flowers, cattle, sheep and ten hens (fresh eggs from the coop and the menu at breakfast time). Hamish loves to cook but disappears periodically to look wistfully at the sea, where he toiled for fifty years.
We look forward to welcoming you at Westend
